The best survival kit is one that you have with you.

These are some of the things that I carry with me at all times.  I have found them all useful in many various situations.  This is just a start to what I carry.  I always believe that one should be prepared.  These are just a few essentials that I carry to get me thru daily life.

As to what one carries is all a matter of personal preference.  Where I live there is some pretty unforgiving terrain.  And more than one potental hostile situation.  In my life I carry these various tools to help get thru.  Weather it is a pocket tool, or a pocket knife, I have had many uses for these various things over the years.

This video is about what I carry in my pockets, I have found that these items can get me out of various situations.  On longer excursions, I carry a day pack, I can be out in the wild for three to four days.  This video just highlights the everyday items that I carry with me.

These are all items that for the most part are somewhat in-expensive.  If one were to find them self in a survival situation, they could be the difference between life and death.  Situation can pop up anywhere.  In the car, broke down by the side of the road.  At the office, on the way to work. In the remote area I live in, it can become a critical issue really fast.

In any situation, the things that are in this example, can really go far towards making a bad situation tolerable. Are really light, three to four pounds max, and tackle a wide variety of situations.  So what are some of the things one should carry.  The things that are most useful to the indivdual, for the situation that one can find oneself in.  Terrain, and what can be found in the environment, should always be considerations.  If one were to find themselves in the desert, one would want to carry water.   If one were in the mountians, a coat might be good.  It all comes down to the terrain, and the situation.  The one must just taylor what they carry to fit there needs and environment.  A good survival kit for the car is always a good idea. As well as one for home and office.  Disaster can strick anywhere at any time to anyone.  Chemical spills, earthquakes, fires, floods, are all things that can come from no where.  Although it is impossible to prepare for all situations, one can be prepared for the ones they, and there families are likely to face.  First responders, may not be able to get to the situation, as fast as nesecary, that is why it is always a good idea, to have a back up plan, and evactution plan, and a universal plan for all members of the family or group.
